Facilities, Maintenance & Operations

The Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) Department of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations's mission is to create a safe, dynamic, and inspiring physical environment that enhances the learning experience across all campuses.

Facilities Department

Quarry Trail ElementaryThe Facilities Department is responsible for planning and implementing new construction, modernization and a variety of District projects, plus long-range facility planning, developer fee policies, enrollment projections, and compliance with government facilities regulation.

Facilities Master Plan:
In its dedication to upholding the standard of excellence in neighborhood education, the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) has developed a robust districtwide Facilities Master Plan (FMP) (May 2024). This comprehensive plan outlines the diverse needs of all school facilities, including TK-12 classroom structures, cutting-edge educational technology, and essential building systems. By serving as a strategic blueprint, the FMP guides investments in Rocklin Unified's educational infrastructure, ensuring a conducive environment for learning and growth across our district.

School Facilities Improvement:
To uphold its commitment to furnishing top-tier facilities that facilitate students' pursuit of educational excellence, the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) prioritizes essential projects to foster personalized instruction and enhance student success. Given the prevalence of aging infrastructure throughout the district, RUSD remains vigilant in seeking funding avenues to address repairs and modernize facilities, thereby ensuring the maintenance of safe learning and working environments.

Use of Facilities

Custodial Department

The Rocklin Unified School District’s (RUSD) Custodial Department aims to provide students, teachers, and administrators with the cleanest, healthiest, safest, and most enjoyable learning environment by utilizing state-of-the-art tools and cleaning methods.

Each school has a Day Lead Custodian and Night Custodian (or Custodial crew), ensuring uninterrupted daily coverage for students and staff. The Custodians undergo comprehensive training and adhere to a quality control checklist to uphold high cleaning standards at the sites, ensuring they are prepared for students each day. Additionally, while school is not in session, the custodial staff conducts deep cleaning, floor refinishing, and other projects that cannot be carried out during the regular school year.

A qualified Custodial Substitute pool is maintained to cover for employees who may be absent.
